Transfer Students
A student seeking to transfer from another institution of higher education to Bais Medrash Toras Chesed must:
- provide references from his previous school.
- have an interview with the Dean, which includes an examination to determine his level.
It is the student’s responsibility to submit an official transcript for past work. A student may be accepted into an advanced level based on his entrance exams. He will have one semester to present official transcripts for evaluation. Generally, transcripts will not be accepted after the student has been enrolled for one semester. However, exceptions may be made based on special circumstances.

Decisions regarding transfer credits are subject to the same appeals process described above. Credits will not be granted automatically based on a transcript, but upon evaluation. Students may be granted a block of credit for past work consistent with the level in which they are placed in Bais Medrash Toras Chesed. These credits are considered pass/fail and not counted in the grade average. |
Under certain circumstances, a student may be accepted into Bais Medrash Toras Chesed after the onset of the semester. He may be eligible to receive full credit for the semester if the Dean determines that he will be able to complete a substantial portion of the semester’s work. Generally, this allowance is made only for students who are transferring from a similar program.
Regardless of the number of transfer credits, and the appropriate placement of a student by level, he will be required to earn a minimum of 60 credits at Bais Medrash Toras Chesed in order to earn a degree. Rare exceptions may be made based on an evaluation of specific circumstances. |
